Successful Collaboration: Positive Comments for I-43 URT Project

We are honored and excited to showcase our work on the I-43 URT North-South freeway reconstruction project in Milwaukee County. The success of this significant construction project is made possible due to a large team effort of multiple engineering consultants (including CORRE and CGC), and a strong partnership with the WisDOT SE Region Project Management Team and Public Relations team.

“Without everyone doing their part, we wouldn’t be as successful as these observers have stated,” says Bill Koutnik, CORRE Construction Project Manager.  “Kudos to the entire team as we keep up the good work towards a strong finish!”

This large-scale project includes construction oversight, inspection, materials testing, and document controls for seven bridge structure replacements on I-43, along with one box culvert, three noise walls, seven retaining walls, six sign structures, and concrete paving on both the NB and SB mainlines.

All work is being completed while remaining open to traffic utilizing staged interim lane closures. At least two lanes of traffic are being maintained in each direction for the entire length project. Construction began on this project in 2021 and is slated to wrap up in 2023. Below is just a sample of the feedback received to date.
