Transportation | Construction Services

CORRE was an integral part of the multi-firm engineering team that provided construction oversight and inspection services for two projects on eight miles of STH 50 from I-94 to 43rd Avenue in Kenosha County. The projects spanned rural and urban areas and include grading, concrete pavement, HMA pavement, six bridges, seven retaining walls, and eight sign structures. The majority of the work was performed under traffic within eight construction stages.

The projects’ 650 or so items included removing old structures, disposal of contaminated soil, concrete pavement, HMA pavement, concrete masonry bridges, prestressed girders, concrete barrier wall, storm sewer, MGS guardrail, curb and gutter, sidewalks, erosion control, pond liner clay, permanent signing and marking, traffic signals and lighting, jack and bore storm sewer, MSE and modular block walls, railroad flagging, and traffic control.

The complex projects involved daily problem solving and foresight to keep the work progressing. Staff continuously coordinated with designers, utilities, local businesses, and residents; managed environmental concerns as well as solid waste and hazardous material disposal; and performed field design for plan changes using CAD alignments, linework, and surfaces that could be incorporated into existing GPS staking and models used by the contractors.
