Lake Country Trail Underpass

Lake Country Trail Underpass
Transportation | Construction Services

CORRE provided construction oversight and inspection services for the Lake Country Trail Underpass in the City of Oconomowoc. This project connects the Lake Country Trail bike path to the existing tunnel under STH 67 and will allow bicyclists and pedestrians to navigate the busy intersection safely and effectively. The scope included exposing an existing box culvert under STH 67, constructing 4 retaining walls, and realigning the pedestrian path. The underpass is equipped with a storm sewer lift station, luminaires, and security cameras.

The project team solved issues arising during excavation operations and provided extensive utility coordination to resolve various utility conflicts. CORRE also maintained a safe site for traveling pedestrians by adding and modifying the traffic control plan to ensure a safe route was available.

The project required coordination with numerous entities including the City of Oconomowoc, Waukesha County, and WisDOT. Coordination with utility companies was also crucial to maintaining the project schedule, as the project is located within a utility corridor. Correspondence between multiple local businesses was necessary. CORRE addressed a variety of issues in a timely manner to maintain the project’s schedule and budget.
