Coon Creek Bridge Replacement

Coon Creek Bridge Replacement, Town of Coon, Cornell Ln
Transportation | Construction Oversight

CORRE provided construction oversight and the inspection services for the replacement of the Cornell Lane Bridge over Coon Creek in Vernon County.

The structure had deteriorated to the extent that only one lane remained open to traffic. As the only route available for emergency vehicles to reach residents, and the only access point for residents to connect with USH 14/61, the structure was in dire need of replacement.

The project included the installation of a single span, prestressed concrete girder bridge, removal of structure P-62-0986, borrow, grading, base aggregate dense, riprap heavy, and asphaltic surface.

Challenges to construction included an extremely tight work area with steep slopes. The new structure was built off alignment and the old structure was modified to provide adequate access for both residents and construction.
