Zoo Interchange In-Depth Inspection

Zoo Interchange In-Depth Inspection
Specialty Services | Bridge Inspection

CORRE completed multiple in-depth inspections of Milwaukee County’s Zoo Interchange structures, which are part of one of Wisconsin’s most complex and significant transportation infrastructure hubs. Unlike routine, ground-level bridge inspections, these specialized inspections required inspectors to navigate within the structures’ curved steel tub girders.

During these inspections, staff were on the lookout for corrosion and cracks in the steel and welded connections, while also assessing the overall condition of each girder. These important inspections are required every four years to ensure the continued safety and performance of these complex structures.
