WDNR Bridge Inspections
Specialty Services | Bridge Inspection
From state parks and wildlife areas to multi-use trails, CORRE’s inspection team performs routine inspections for a wide array of structure types on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) properties throughout the state. These structures include timber slab bridges, steel girder bridges, concrete slab and girder bridges, and prefabricated steel trusses.
Many of these structures are located along Wisconsin’s trail systems, including numerous Rails-to-Trails corridors that repurpose former railroad systems and bridges. The oldest WDNR trail system, the Elroy–Sparta State Trail, features three mined tunnels constructed in 1873 and nearly 70 trail bridges along its 32.5-mile route. Passing through five small communities, the trail remains one of Wisconsin’s most popular bicycling destinations.
