Various Bridge Rehabilitations, USH 18 and STH 59
Transportation | Structure Design

CORRE was selected to complete the roadway approach design for several bridges designed by WisDOT along STH 59 and USH 18 in Waukesha County. As part of design, CORRE completed Section 106 historical documentation.

This project was unique. It included work on four bridges, including one replacement and three rehabilitations. Three of the structures made the screening list for history. One did not due to its proximity to the Masonic Home Historic District which had been determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

CORRE consulted with the property owner and local historical society before performing a reconnaissance survey of the property. Upon completion, CORRE determined that the historic district was no longer intact. SHPO inspected the property and agreed with CORRE’s conclusion that it was no longer a district. Proper documentation was completed and the AHI/WHPD was updated.
