USH 14, City of Westby, N Main St
Transportation | Construction Oversight
CORRE provided construction oversight and inspection services for this high complexity multi-staged project reconstructing USH 14 in the City of Westby. The project included a new roundabout at the intersection of USH 14 and STH 27 and required extensive coordination with the City, utilities, and multiple residents and business owners along the corridor.

Challenges on this high complexity, multi-stage project were numerous, and included maintaining residential and business access, working within extremely tight constraints through downtown, and overcoming poor soils and grade changes. Everything depended on a team effort between CORRE, the City, WisDOT, and the contractor to successfully complete this revitalization and improvement project.
Construction improvements included grading, interchange roundabout construction, erosion control, HMA pavement, and concrete pavement. The project also included retaining walls with decorative rail, sidewalk, and curb and gutter improvements. The project team solved issues arising during construction and resolved conflicts with various utility companies.
This high-quality project exceeded expectations because all parties involved were invested in the same goal. The entire community worked together to overcome the challenges associated with this complex, multi-stage, multi-year project.
