CORRE provided construction oversight and inspection services for this high-complexity multi-staged urban project consisting of 1.2 miles of reconstruction on STH 35 from CTH C to Laser Drive in the Village of Somerset. The project included removing and replacing the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, curb and gutter, driveways, sidewalk, and concrete pavement. The project also included HMA pavement and traffic signals. All intersections, sidewalks, and driveways were reconstructed to meet ADA standards, and roadway and bike path lighting were added to enhance the public’s safety. Other incidental work included EBS, guardrail, temporary markings, permanent signing and pavement marking, and landscaping.

The project team solved issues that arose during grading operations and provided extensive utility coordination to resolve conflicts with various utility companies. CORRE also maintained a safe site for the traveling public by proactively adding and modifying the traffic control devices to fit the needs of each stage.

The project required coordination with the Village of Somerset as they specified items meeting their requirements. CORRE also entered lane closures and sent out weekly updates to the public/stakeholders to keep the traveling public safe and informed. CORRE addressed issues promptly to maintain the project’s schedule and budget, using their proven project control tools and knowledge to review and track submittals, RFIs, and change management to get documents reviewed/approved quickly.
