STH 20 Traffic Control Design, Oakes Rd to STH 31
Transportation | Roadway Design
CORRE provided the most challenging deliverable – the traffic control design – for this urban highway perpetuation project that consisted of improvements to the deteriorating STH 20 pavement structure and improved signalized intersections and curb ramps.

STH 20 varies from a six-lane divided to a four-lane divided facility. During peak hours only one lane of traffic can be closed at a time and due to the curb and gutter there is no opportunity to temporarily widen the pavement. Due to these restrictions, a combination of construction staging and a detour route was utilized to minimize impacts to the travelling public and adjacent businesses.
