CTH C Shared-Use Path Project Profile

CTH C Shared-Use Path

  • Kenosha County

  • 10/2015–Ongoing

WisDOT ID 3736-06-00, Kenosha County

CORRE is designing this key trail connection in partnership with Kenosha County, the Village of Pleasant Prairie, and WisDOT. CTH C is a rural roadway with high-speed motorists and is fronted by residential homes on both sides. Public outreach has been critical to this project as the trail will be close to the existing residences. Loss of vegetation, anticipated “Not In My Back Yard” (NIMBY) protests, and concerns over potential stormwater impacts have been hot-button issues.

Design in accordance with WisDOT protocol for Non-Traditional Local Program projects has been intensive based on the complexity of the design in regards to the structures, environmental impacts, utility relocations, and real estate needs.

This project is currently in preliminary design with real estate acquisition anticipated to begin in July of 2017 and construction slated for spring of 2018.
